St. Barnabas Church of England Primary School

Welcome

Saint Barnabas Church of England Primary School is situated in the village of Barnetby Le Wold on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds and we are Federated with St. Helena’s Church of England Primary School, in the nearby village of Kirmington.

We are a small, friendly caring school and we take great pride in playing a central part in village life. We receive strong support from ‘Friends Of Barnetby School’ (FOBS) who work tirelessly to organise fundraising events for the school. We have close links with Saint Barnabas Church and hold regular school services in the church.

This is our promise to our whole school family, children and adults alike. Within a loving, Christian atmosphere we will offer each unique person continuing chances to take part in learning experiences, where they are enabled to explore the limits of their ability. Together we will ensure they have the opportunity to use their God-given talents to achieve their full potential.

Our school has achieved a range of awards for a variety of purposes. Currently we hold the Dyslexia Friendly Schools Award; our second Basic Skills Quality Mark, in recognition of the quality of our education and learning; the Sainsbury Sports Award Gold; and the Investors in People Gold Award for supporting all areas of the school community.

Although we are very proud of this national recognition we have not become complacent and are always working towards improvement. We cannot do this alone. We believe you, as parents and carers, have a very important role to play and we actively encourage close co-operation between home and school. We value and build on the experience and knowledge that children bring from home, and share with you the responsibility for ensuring that your child enjoys the very best primary education; an education that provides firm foundations on which to build success in the future.

By working together we can make sure this happens.

An important part of life at Saint Barnabas is teaching our Christian values of thankfulness, friendship, perseverance, hope, trust, peace, forgiveness and compassion. We raise money for many charities both in our local community and the wider community, as well as sponsoring six children at the Hope Community Village through the Hope India Organisation. Hope India Look after children who suffer from deprivation both on the city streets and in rural areas. They are contacted on a regular basis concerning the plight of children of all ages who have been abandoned, orphaned or who for a variety of reasons are suffering abuse or starvation.

We hope that you enjoy looking around our web site and come back to visit us soon.

Nature Champion: Helping the Bees

In this week’s blog, the spotlight falls on Elise, a member of Year 6 who has used her artistic talent to raise money for The Bumblebee Conservation Trust, by drawing a wonderful picture of a bee which her parents then arranged to be turned into postcards. These were then sold to the local community. In her own words, Elise explains why:

Community Spirit: Daisy & Evie

We are extremely proud of the hard work and commitment to the village they live in, shown by two of our students. Back in January, sisters Daisy and Evie gave up their own time to go litter picking, in an effort to clear the streets and verges of litter, to make the village a nicer place for people and wildlife alike. We are sure

Y2 Teams drawings

I challenged everyone to draw their favourite animals doing something funny for our Teams meeting on the 19th Jan. These are some that have been emailed to me, they did make me smile! If anyone else has a drawing they would like to send from that meeting please email it to me and I will add them to the gallery!     Great pictures
