Show & Tell Season 2 Week 3

Another week and another amazing collection of photo’s for this week’s Show and Tell. It’s wonderful to see so many of you taking advantage of the outdoor spaces we are lucky enough to live in, building super structures with cardboard and foam tiles, exploring science, baking (yum), helping out at home and having fun! Thank you to everyone who has contributed and keep on sending in your pictures and updates, we love seeing them all. Items for the next Show & Tell should be sent to admin.kirmington@northlincs.gov.uk by the end of next Saturday (30th).

Why not take a look at what the children at St. Helena’s have been up to?

This week dance continues online, all over the house! Robert and Bella did some dinosaur work  and art. Luna has enjoyed being part of the class teams calls. Elise finished her artwork she started last week.

Ella-Marie has had a busy afternoon baking this delicious jam sponge and chocolate brownie cake 😋 She really enjoyed measuring out all of the ingredients on her own and followed each instruction very carefully. I’m sure we shall all enjoy a slice later on 😁

Harrison and I have one question that we would like to ask….

“Is it half term yet?” 😁😂.

Harrison has been working really hard, and I’m so proud of him. After the first week of feeling like we had no idea what we were doing, or if he was actually learning anything 🤷🏻‍♀️, we finally got ourselves organised, and are now working well and learning lots.

On Wednesday, we decided to have an afternoon off school work and make Harrisons favourite food…. SAUSAGE ROLLS! They tasted delicious 😋.

He is missing his friends very much and hopes everyone is keeping safe and well.

Seth really enjoyed literature this week. And “The tiger who came for tea”. He wrote a list and went “shopping” in the cupboards for the tea party. Then prepared sandwiches.

Seth has also enjoyed crafting. He turned a wooden spoon into “fantastic Mr. fox”.

This week Violet has been practising with money. We didn’t have many coins so we had to cut them out and pretend. Violet pretended all the different holes in the muffin tray were different items in a shop which she had to ‘buy’. Also, this weeks Violet has perfected making cups of teas and coffee 🤣

Hello I’m Esme and I’m in class FH I wanted to show you all that I made pizza for tea last weekend for all my family. Mummy made the dough and pizza sauce for me, I put the pizza sauce on top of the dough then I put on some grated cheese (yummy). I then added some other toppings that mummy had prepared for me there was tomatoes, peppers and onions. Mummy then put the pizza into the oven for me because the oven is very hot, it cooked for around 20 minutes. All my family thought it was very yummy.

Well this week Oliver and William have spent their afternoons mainly outside. We did a run where they ran 2 miles, William did however spend the whole 2 miles complaining and even informed us he was near death, however he’s happy enough to run around a football pitch for an hour! They then designed and built a crazy golf course in the garden (which was extremely crazy) and also went looking for wildlife in our nature pond that the boys built but we found very little – we think it’s too cold at the moment.

Darcy’s had a fun 🤩 week, she’s caught up on her homework learning pack. 📚

As a treat we went to Starbucks for a “Strawberry Frappuccino” which she loved. 🤤
She thinks Mrs. Revitt would love ❤️ one too.

Nancie created her own pizza for tea, adding her favourite toppings (sweet corn, pineapple, ham, cheese and chicken). She had to taste test the toppings before they went on her pizza.

Alex enjoying time out from his schoolwork practicing his magic skills that he got for Christmas!!

It’s been a hectic few weeks and it’s taken us a while to settle back in to a homeschooling routine again, but we’re doing OK.

Amy has kept herself busy and the return of online dancing this week has certainly helped her.

Amy has been working well through her home learning pack and has also enjoyed completing some puzzles. Amy set herself a challenge to make an ombré cake this week, something she has wanted to do for a while now, so she was very happy with how well it turned out 🙂 Amy and I have made sure that we have been for a walk everyday. Today was especially nice in the sunshine rather than the wind and rain! Amy has really enjoyed the Wednesday Teams catch-up with Mrs. Byrne and her class friends the last couple of weeks. A big thank you for organising this. I know how much Amy looks forward to it 🙂.

Thinking of our school family and sending our love and very best wishes.

Leanne, Dave, Sam and Amy xx

Dear Mrs. Hammond,
It was nice to see you and everyone again.
This is some of what Grace has  been doing at home.
She made a guitar, a multistory garage and a maze
We are also enjoying doing activities provided in the pack.
See again on Friday

Hello all,  January is seeming a long month!  This week Sam did a couple of cool experiments about how light bends and makes things appear/disappear. He’s missing his mates and was glad to see them on Teams, even if we hadn’t quite figured out the set-up properly!

Joe has been at home this week too and has been impressing us all with his reading.  He’s made some jelly and cake – no competition for Vi yet! He also pinched his brother’s Scout project and put together a bird house on his own.  We’re planning to do the Big Bird Watch next weekend so have been putting out lots of seeds to encourage them into the garden.
He’s looking forward to being back at school though.

Been busy with our work this week. We did the science work together. Daisy made sausage and onion pasty for tea. We have done more litter picking and on Saturday, we had big sisters 18th birthday.

Stay safe

We have been working hard on our school work. The weather hasn’t been very good, so we have been doing  more indoor activities. We have built a den and had a picnic in it. We have been making bird feeders using squidgy lard and bird seed making fat balls and have put them up around our back and front garden hoping to attract birds for the big British bird count this week. We have our binoculars at the ready. It was our birthday today: we are 8! We had lots of lovely presents, a rainbow cake with a sparkler candle. Our family watched via FaceTime. We got a penguin and lemur adoption at our favourite zoo in Wales.
