Show & Tell Week 12

Whether you’ve been at school this week or not, we still love to see your photos and read about what you’ve been doing, your thoughts on the week etc. so do please keep them coming in. Maisie and Olivia spent hours having fun together making their own birthday bunting for Maisie’s 9th birthday. Maisie enjoyed making slime with her sister.

Oscar making some lovely ginger biscuits and he has been busy making his new VW Golf 8.

This week we read ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’. Elise made story spoons and Bella read the story to her brother.

Bella re wrote her own version called ‘We’re going on a Lion Hunt’ all about her favourite teddy lion, Lary.
Elise has been busy with a project about the NHS and this week interviewed a nurse who qualified in London in the 1960’s, who kindly sent her some photos of when she was a young nurse in London.

Jake and Ben have had another nice week. Ben has got his gold trophy for Carol Vordeman’s maths factor and he’s started another 30 day challenge. Ben helped make tea again – he’s getting good at cooking! He loves using his knife he got for Christmas! We made a lava lamp from the instructions that he got in one of his school packs, they turned out really well! Jake and Ben have also started practicing to play the drums to some different songs, that are not AC/DC. They are now on The Levellers, Guns N Roses, The Kinks and Metallica! Some nice easy listening music!!! We are hoping the sun comes back next week.

This week we have loved watching the tadpoles! They now have proper back legs and are using them to swim rather than their tails! And the wildlife pond is teaming with life now it’s had chance to settle!

Isaac also tried to teach the dogs some new tricks! It may be true that “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!” as you can see from the photo! Fern is not as keen as Twiz to learn the tunnel trick!
And we found a lovely shaped potato after collecting direct from the farmer ?

“This week we have not had many walks due to the weather but we did find the burnt out van .. we have done lots of school work this week and enjoyed it. Thank you to all teachers for your help and support. Due to not going to the shops we have made Fathers Day cards for dad and our grandads this was great fun. We spotted a deer on our walk. We have had radish and strawberries out of the garden. We have also been making ice-cream. .. hope everyone is safe and well.

Owen turned 11 this week he had a lovely birthday, especially as he could have his grandparents and auntie round in the garden for a socially distanced get together. He had his sister on video call most of the day, as she’s still in Sheffield.

Owen has started his second home school learning book this week and has been busy leaning about reflected translations and practising his co-ordinates. He’s continued to do his reading plus each day and started the new numerise website sent through from school by the Vale Academy.
He’s learnt all about global warming and Pablo Picasso and was amazed at how long Pablos full name actually was.
He loved seeing Mrs Emms this week when she dropped off his new work and had a lovely chat with her. We made sausage rolls again this week, as we had cake left from his birthday
He also managed to see the elusive hedgehog Thursday evening, who was scurrying to cover from the rain. He was a little sad that he wasn’t at PGL this weekend but will be doing some stuff outside as the weather is nice.
He hopes everyone is ok and sends his love to all his friends and teachers and staff at school. X

Evelyn has eaten the first strawberries off the strawberry plant she has been looking after in the garden, she said they tasted delicious! This weeks baking was chocolate chip cookies ??
She has been doing some school work and enjoyed the lava lamp experiment and making a number bonds rainbow ?
Evelyn finished off the week by going for a long bike ride with her Daddy.

This week we have tried a couple of Lauren’s science experiments.  We loved seeing the gummy bears grow so tried it with other jelly sweets and as you can see we thought we could start our own sweet shop selling giant versions of the sweets.  We also loved the lava experiment watching it all bubble.  We have been trying to find more types of bees to help Chloe with her Young Rangers comp and pleased that we have a few more weeks as we will definitely need it.

We achieved our second silver maths factor trophy and are on course for achieving gold this week.

We hope everyone is well.
It has been a busy couple of weeks with Sam returning to school, and Amy and Dave celebrating their birthdays.
Amy decided she wanted to bake her and Dave a joint birthday cake. It was delicious! ?
Amy enjoyed building a hospital Lego set this week, which was one of her birthday presents. She has also continued practising her spellings and times tables each day.
Amy has worked steadily through her home learning pack and enjoyed discovering facts about the ocean layers.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t as good as we have been used to, but we enjoyed seeing the rainbows ??

Victoria is still working but has had a lazy couple of weeks. She’s still been reading almost every day and loves the Epic app. We’ve been having a laugh at some of the books on there too 🙂 We’ve done some baking and dropped them off to Victoria’s Nanna, Grandad and Uncle. She has been enjoying playing with the dogs and having cuddles with Brucey. She’s been having walks with her dad and the dogs too and Victoria has lost two teeth in one week! We enjoyed learning about the ocean and how sad It is with how much rubbish affects it. Victoria has done a fantastic poster! ? ?
